Fifth Anniversary Reflection: Gratitude for Five Years of Service
As we celebrate five years of Mobility Georgia, I’m filled with gratitude for the people and
stories that have shaped this journey. From the beginning, our mission has been to serve
our community with compassion, hospitality, and trustworthy mobility solutions — and the
experiences we’ve shared with our customers have continually reminded us why this work
matters.
One of the earliest moments that left an impression on me happened during our very first
week. A man called urgently needing a scooter delivered within 24 hours so he could take
his wife to chemotherapy. We rearranged everything to make it happen. The next day, he
called personally to thank us. His gratitude, expressed during such a difficult season,
reminded us that mobility isn’t just equipment — it is support, dignity, and relief for people
facing real challenges.
Over the years, we’ve also seen remarkable expressions of love within families. One
memory that stands out is when a grandmother came in with her children and adult
grandchildren to choose a scooter. When she found the one she loved, all eight of them
pitched in to buy it for her. Watching a family unite so naturally around someone they
cherish showed the strength of care that is so characteristic of Georgia families.
Another story that touched me deeply involved a woman who visited our store early on a
Monday morning looking for the very best medical bed we carried. She was with a friend
and made her decision quickly. She asked us to deliver it to her mother the next morning.
When our team arrived, we discovered her mother was in a memory care facility with
dementia. Though her mother could not fully understand the decision or the sacrifice, her
daughter’s desire to honor her with comfort and dignity was unmistakable.
Another special moment occurred when a son-in-law brought his father-in-law to Muss & Turner’s for lunch and then surprised him by bringing him to our store to choose a mobility device. His father-in-law teared up when he realized what was happening. Seeing the expression on his face and the meaning behind that gesture reflected the deep bonds we are privileged to witness.
I am deeply grateful for our team — people who bring commitment, care, and excellence to their work every day. They come from a wide range of backgrounds, including two
seminarians from Reformed Theological Seminary, a professional film producer, a theatre
actor, and a global traveler!
I am also thankful for the blessing of working alongside family. My mother-in-law manages
our systems and accounting, my brother supports the opening of new stores, my wife
oversees our service culture and hospitality ethos, and my children contribute in their own
ways. Their involvement has shaped the spirit and identity of Mobility Georgia in
meaningful ways.
We are also grateful to be the largest mobility rental operation in Georgia. The size, variety,
and quality of our rental fleet are unparalleled in the state, and it is a privilege to provide
dependable mobility equipment to so many individuals, families, and visitors. We are
honored as well to serve as the official mobility provider for the Georgia World Congress
Center, supporting their conventions along with guests staying at the Signia by Hilton and
many downtown hotels. Serving people during their time in Atlanta is a responsibility we
take seriously, and we are grateful for the trust placed in us.
Looking forward, our focus remains the same: to provide dependable mobility solutions
with integrity and to reduce as much risk and worry as possible for those we serve.
Whether through our Home Demonstration program, our Rent-to-Own offering, our
carefully curated product selection, or the timeliness and competence of our service, we
want every customer to feel supported and confident.
Above all, I’m thankful to God for sustaining us. Mobility Georgia has always been an
Ebenezer to me — a reminder of the Lord’s help and provision. “Thus far the Lord has
helped us.”
